Logs for Lord Lingaraj’s Rukuna Rath construction reach Odisha capital

Wooden logs for the construction of  Lord Lingaraj’s Rukuna Rath have reached the capital of Odisha, on Friday.

After  consecration ceremony of a selected log at the Singhdwar in Shri Jaganath Temple in Puri  it has been brought here to the Rath Khala, a place where the chariot of Lord Lingaraj is constructed. This log will be made into the wheels of the chariot.

The rest 270 logs have been sent to Cuttack government sawmill for processing.

Notebly, the servitors of the Lingaraj temple in January this year had gone to Dahapalla Jungle in Nayagarh district to identify sacred trees for construction of the chariot.

The Rukuna Rath yatra will be organised in Bhubaneswar on April 14 .
