At least 37 cows and 29 sheep were killed as lightning struck them at Gorada village under Soroda block in Odisha’s Ganjam district late on Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, rain and thundershower lashed several parts of Soroda area in the late afternoon on Sunday.
Lightning struck the cattle while they were grazing in a field in Gorada village.
The affected people who owned the cows and sheep have sought financial help from the government.
On the other hand, continuous rain over two days has brought down the temperature drastically in the Soroda area much to the relief of the people from the gruelling heat wave.
