Editor of Sambad and chairman of Eastern Media Ltd (EML) Soumya Ranjan Patnaik on Friday advised students to choose their profession based on their aptitude.
“You will be able to utilize your potential to the maximum if you choose your profession in accordance with your attitude without any pressure”, Patnaik said while felicitating the students who scored A-1 grade in the recently concluded annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, at a function organized by the Sambad’s Baleswar edition here.
Presiding over the function, Patnaik said the parents should be aware of the choice of profession of their children. “Parents should not put pressure on their children to choose a particular profession against their will”, he observed.
Maintaining that Odia medium students are in no way inferior to English medium students, Patnaik advised the students not to develop inferiority complex since they have the potential to reach the top of the ladder of success.
Neither these students and nor their teachers should neglect the Odia language since it is their mother tongue. “You cannot express your feelings properly except in your mother tongue”, he pointed out.
Among others, chief guest and Baleswar MP Rabindra Kumar Jena, district collector Arvind Agrawal and chief operating officer (COO) of Sambad Kamalakanta Mohapatra also spoke on the occasion.
While chief of news bureau of Baleswar edition Chittaranjan Chiranjit delivered the welcome address, Bhadrak district correspondent Dr Harihar Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
A total of 139 meritorious students of 66 high schools from Baleswar, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts were felicitated.
