Bhubaneswar, May 8:
To ensure transparency in the supply of kerosene to the consumers under the public distribution system (PDS), the Odisha government has decided to abolish sub-wholesaling of PDS kerosene in 25 districts from June 1 next.
The state government had earlier abolished the sub wholesaling of PDS kerosene in five districts in July last year.
“We have started a pilot programme in the five districts where the sub wholesaling system has been abolished since July last year as per the decision of the state government. As per the decision, the programmes would be started in the remaining 25 districts, after the system is abolished from June 1 next”, secretary, Food and Civil Supply Madhusudan Padhi told reporters after presiding over a meeting of Civil Supply officers here this afternoon.
