Commissionerate Police today detained a youth from the Odisha capital, who allegedly posing as a co-pilot of the Indian Airlines cheated young women of their money by promising them with lucrative careers in airlines industry.
Nayapalli police has seized several fake documents of Indian Airlines from him.
The youth identified as Ronit Bhardwaj, allegedly used to arrange fake telephonic interviews for posts like air hostess, HR counselor, junior admin etc. in Indigo Airlines and then used to ask for amounts ranging between Rs 60,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh from the prospective job seekers for finalizing their appointments.
“He had posed as a co-pilot with Indian Airlines and had claimed to be on training. He had conducted telephonic interviews of us. He had asked for Rs 1.20 lakh for getting our jobs confirmed. We had doubts and we caught him today. We apprehend he has cheated around 50-60 aspirants and is maintaining a life of luxury with cars, bungalows etc.,” said a complainant.
Nayapalli police detained Ronit on the basis of complaints lodged by two women victims.
Ronit has confessed to his crimes during interrogation, police sources said.
