The blockade, led by JMM Odisha state president Sudam Marandi, disrupted vehicular traffic in the town and adjoining areas.

The party also staged a demonstration near the district collectorate here shouting slogans against the state and central governments for allegedly neglecting Mayurbhanj.

In order to intensify its stir against the alleged neglect of the district, JMM has called for a Mayurbhanj bandh on Monday.

Expressing their anguish over the issue, opposition parties BJP and CPI blamed both the state and central governments for failing to meet the long standing demand of the people of Mayurbhanj.
