Bhubaneswar, May 19:
While the Congress rank and file are upset and angry with the PCC president Jayadev Jena and chairman of Pradesh Election Campaign Committee Srikant Jena for their gross failure in handling the party organization and faulty selection of candidates that resulted in the party’s dismal show in the just concluded Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Odisha, senior party leader and former Union minister Kanhu Charan Lenka has expressed surprise over the fact that they are still clinging to their posts.
“It is matter of utter shame and regret that the PCC chief is still holding on to his post even after owning moral responsibility for the party’s miserable show in the elections”, Lenka said.
“The genuine party workers and leaders had to bear the brunt of the poll disaster because of the entry of these Bhasmasuras (destructive demons) into the leadership positions in the party. These two leaders had ensured the demise of the party from the day they started auctioning party tickets. The party workers would come to know about the clandestine deal of these two leaders had struck with the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) very soon”, he said.
