Srikant Jena and Jayadev Jena, the two people who called all the shots in the Odisha Congress in the run up to the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state,have expectedly bit the dust in their respective constituencies.

While Srikant came a poor third behind eventual winner Rabindra Kumar Jena and BJP candidate Pratap Sarangi in the Balasore parliamentary constituency, Jayadev lost to his BJD rival Mayadhar Jena by a thumping margin of over 22, 000 votes in the Anandpur Assembly seat.
