The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today announced a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh for anyone who provides information pertaining to the sensational murder case of primary school teacher Itishree Pradhan.
The central investigating agency put up posters here inviting people to come forward and share information regarding the sensational murder of the school teacher posted in Tikiri Upper Primary School.
As part of its fourth round of investigation into the case, the sleuths today once again interrogated Narendra Dandasena, the nephew of dismissed school inspector (SI) Netrananda Dandasena, who had agreed in court that he had used Narendra’s mobile to threaten Itishree.
It may be recalled that Itishree Pradhan– a lady teacher of Tikiri Upper Primary School in Rayagada district– was set on fire inside her room in the school campus on the night of October 27, 2013 following which succumbed to her injuries at the CARE Hospital at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on November 1, 2013.
Initially, the case was investigated by Crime Branch. Later, it was handed over to CBI. Following a writ petition filed by Sudipta Lenka, a law student from Bengaluru, the Supreme Court had directed the CBI to probe into the case on January 20 last year.
Acting on the directive of the court, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI began the probe into the case on February 25 last year.
