Industry bosses meet Naveen, seek state govt’s co-operation

Captains and representatives of the metal industry today met with the Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik to congratulate him for his big win in the elections and also to seek the cooperation of his new government in expediting their projects in the state.

TATA Group chairman Cyrus P. Mistry, JSPL chairman Naveen Jindal, senior POSCO official Ho-Chan Ryu and IMFA chief Subhrakanta Panda today called on the chief minister at his chamber in the Secretariat.

“I congratulated the chief minister for his land slide victory in the elections. I hope the state will witness rapid development this time also, under Mr Patnaik’s able leadership,” said Navin Jindal.

He said Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has commissioned a 2.5 million tonne electric arc furnace at its upcoming Rs 30,000 crore steel mill in Angul in the first phase and that the company expects to complete the project by end of 2015.

IMFA chief Panda said it was just a courtesy call to greet the chief minister.
