Chusul (Jammu and Kashmir), Aug 1:
India and China on Saturday held a ceremonial border personnel meeting in Chusul in the eastern sector to mark the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Day.
The meeting was held at Chinese BPM Hut in Moldo Garrison in Chusul Sector of Eastern Ladakh, the Indian Army said.
From the Indian side, the delegation was led by Brigadier J.K.S. Virk and from the Chinese side Senior Colonel Chen Zheng Shan.
The day also marked a milestone in India-China relations at the border troops level as the PLA hosted an Indian Army delegation for the first time in the newly established Border Meeting Point of Daulat Beg Oldie.
The Indian delegation was led by Col B.S. Uppal and the Chinese delegation by Colonel Song Zhoanli.
Border personnel meeting is conducted every year on PLA Day.

A programme showcasing Chinese culture was also organised, followed by a banquet.
“Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. The delegations parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace and tranquility along the LAC,” the statement added. (IANS)
