Many genuflected before the bronze statue of the Father of the Nation offering flowers and singing hymns today at the 40-year-old temple at Bhatra built by a Gandhian, former MLA Abhimanyu Kumar in 1974.

Kalia Bag, the priest of the temple, said that a large number of locals gather at the temple to offer their prayers to Gandhiji in the morning everyday.

“I worship Gandhiji every day here reciting the Bhagavad Gita”, he added.
