Nuapada, Jul 24:
Hundreds of Maoist posters were today found in the Bhulia Sikua villager under Khariar police limits of Nuapada district in Odisha.
The Bolangir-Bargarh divisional committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) is suspected to have stuck these posters.
The posters call upon the villagers to make the Martyr’s Week from July 28 till August 3 a success. Besides, it also blames and holds Bolangir SP responsible for the death of Maoist sympathizer Goutam Bag and goes on to say that police have framed false charges against arrested Maoist Nirmala.
Local Police, on the other hand, are trying to trace the origin of the poster and have provided security to the villagers, as per information provided by the SDPO of Nuapada.
In another incident in the same district, local cops and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have seized guns and bullets from a house in Sialti villager under Boden police limits.
While the cops managed to seize two local hand-made guns, one pistol, five bullets and other equipment used in making guns, the owner of the house escaped. Cops suspect that these guns were supposed to be used by Maoists.
“We are strengthening patrolling and combing operations in the area to arrest him and keep the situation under control on the eve of the Martyr’s Week,” said the Nuapada SP.
