Excise officials today seized 85 kgs of ganja from Kandapalli village under Ambabhona police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh and arrested a person in this connection.
The arrested was identified as Shankar Nayak (26), sources said.
According to reports, Nayak allegedly used to supply ganja to Chhattisgarh after procuring the contraband from Boudh district.
An Excise team led by Sub-inspector Chandan Mandal raided Nayak’s house in the village and seized the ganja packed in four sacks.
The market value of the seized ganja is estimated to be Rs 4.5 lakh. Nayak has been forwarded to court.
