Former member of the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) Himadri Mohapatra breathed his last at his residence near Airport Square here on Friday morning.
He was 71.
Mohapatra , who belonged to the Odisha judicial service, was also the Principal Secretary to the Law Department of Odisha Government and taken retirement in 2004. He was then appointed as the Member (Judicial) of the OHRC and became the first Member (Judicial) of the rights panel.
Mohapatra is survived by wife and two sons. His death has been deeply condoled by the judicial fraternity and members of the wide social circle that he was associated with.
