The ongoing heat wave in Odisha would grow in intensity in the next three days, the local Met office warned in a release here this evening.
13 towns and cities in the state recorded temperature over 40 degree Celsius with Sambalpur recording the highest temperature of 43.2 degree Celsius.
Other places like Chandbali (41.4), Bhubaneswar (40.9), Angul (40.1), Baripada (42), Jharsuguda (43.1), Hirakud (42.1), Talcher (40.5), Bhawanipatna (42.5), Bolangir (41.5), Titlagarh (42.5) and Sonepur (41.8) also came under the sweltering heat.
The Met office, has, however, predicted rain or thundershowers at some places in the state in the next 48 hours.
