Cuttack, Mar 11:
The Orissa High Court today ordered for arrest of District Education Officer (DEOs) of Balasore and Jajpur on contempt of court charges.
The HC while conducting a hearing in a contempt of court case ordered the police to arrest and produce Jajpur DEO Kapilendra Mishra and then DEO of Balasore Prakash Joshi in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Jajpur.
A division bench of the HC comprising of Justice Vinod Prasad and Justice Biswanath Rath directed the Court of CJM Jajpur to allow the duo to go on bail against a personal recognition (PR) bond of Rs 1 lakh.
The HC has ordered the duo to appear before it in person on April 4.
The HC made the order while conducting a hearing on the petition of a Madrasa teacher Khaleduj Jama Khan.
Notably, on June 25, 2012 the HC had ordered Jajpur DEO to revert Khaleduj Jama Khan to his old place of posting-the Madrasa at Binjharpur in Jajpur district. Khan had filed a contempt of court case on April 21, 2013 following non-compliance of HC orders.
