Orissa High Court today granted conditional bail to arrested IAS officer Dr Partha Sarathi Mishra who was under judicial custody on graft charges.
Adjudicating over the bail plea, a division bench headed by justice JP Das directed the Cuttack Special Vigilance Court to grant him bail on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and two bailers on conditions of not tampering with evidence nor influencing witnesses and to cooperate in the investigation.
The former Managing Director of Odisha Small Industries Corporation (OSIC) Ltd had moved the High Court after his bail plea was rejected by Special Court (Vigilance) here on February 18.
It may be mentioned here that the IAS officer was apprehended by Vigilance sleuths near his office on February 15 with cash in his car.
Upon interception, a sum of Rs 2, 14, 750 was found from the possession of Dr Partha Sarathi Mishra in the car in a closed cover.
The anti-corruption wing had conducted simultaneous searches at the residence and official quarters of Mishra after seizure of the huge amount of cash from his car leading to his arrest.
