Bhubaneswar: The entrepreneurial enthusiasm has been contagious in India. The Big Buzz of 2016, which took wings making India the third largest country to house start-ups, has seen many pioneers in different fields.
One name in the reckoning is that of Odisha’s Shivdutt Das. He is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Tenth Planet Group, a promising brand in international tourism space. The organisation recently won the Best Mice Start Up for this year.
After a successful stint with multinationals like Bharti, Tata and Reliance, he stepped down as Executive Vice President with Anil Ambani Group last year and founded this company.
Today, Tenth Planet Group has its presence in New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, besides partner offices in London, Amsterdam and other places in the United States.
“We are only a start-up by vintage, otherwise we are today among the big boys in the trade and aiming to touch our 100 Cr ambition in next 12 to 18 months. We have overachieved our half-yearly numbers and confident of making a splendid finish of this financial year,” Das said.
Asked about valuation of the company and scope of raising funds, he said, “We are not looking at any dilution at this stage. The way public markets are behaving, we might aim at that at the most appropriate time, however nothing in near future.”
Das is also a faculty and speaker on leadership and a life coach.
