Four held for extortion at gun point

Bhubaneswar, Sep 25:

The Nayapalli Police on Wednesday arrested four persons for allegedly trying to extort money from a hotel owner at gun point and attacking employees of the hotel at IRC Village here.

All four have been forwarded to the court.

The accused were identified as Sushant Kumar Sethi (22) of Nilakantha Nagar in Nayapalli, Harish Chandra Lenka (22) and Uttam Dehury (20) and Ashis Bhujgala (22) of the Brit Colony in the same area.

Police sources said, the accused persons tried to extort money at gun point from the owner of the Puspanjali hotel in Nayapalli last night.When the hotel owner refused to give money, the accused attacked him and his employees who came to rescue him.

Later, the hotel owner filed a complaint at the Nayapalli police station.

Acting on the complaint the police today arrested the accused under 457, 341, 294, 427, 506, 379 and 34 IPC and under 25 Arms Act.
