Two women sportspersons along with two coaches from Odisha have been selected for Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017, scheduled from March 14-25 in Austria.
While Sarita Routray and Sonali Pradhan will represent India in the international sports event in Floor Hockey and Floorball respectively, Sasmita Mohapatra and Swagatika Parida will visit Austria as the coach.
Earlier, Sarita has brought laurel for India by bagging gold at Beach Volleyball in Special Olympics Summer Games in the US.
It will be first international event for Sonali during her career.
On the other hand, Sasmita Mohapatra has been appointed as the coach of Indian team, said Prakash Kumar Rath, Regional Director, Special Olympics India.
These four Odias have found place in Indian team among 131 athletes and officials.
Total 2700 sportspersons from 107 countries will participate in the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2017.
