Bhubaneswar, Oct 1:
The final result of the Sambad-Ama Odisha State Level Competition-2013 was announced here on Monday.
In the drawing competition, Maheswar Munda of Padmapur Ashram Vidyalaya, Erasama of Jagatsinghpur district has secured the first position while Samruddhi Panda of Chandrasekharpur DAV School in Bhubaneswar and Soumya Sagarika of Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir at Joda in Keonjhar district have stood first in the handwriting and essay competitions respectively.
The winners would be awarded in a glittering function at Jayadev Bhawan in the city on October 4 where the final round competition in the debate and Saregama song competition would also be held.
The winners of the zonal level debate and Saregama song competitions would take part in the competitions. The participants will have to register their names after arriving at the venue at 9 am. The competition would begin at 10 am while the results would be announced in the afternoon.
It may be mentioned that the state level examinations in the three categories were held in 340 centres on September 15. The examination papers of the students securing first, second and third position in each centre, were sent for the final round competition for revaluation.
The jury members for essay competitions were Dr Bijay Kumar Mohanty, secretary of Odisha Lekhaka Sammukhya, litterateur and critic Dr Babaji Charan Patnaik and Odia professor of Utkal University Dr Santosh Kumar Tripathy while in the drawing and handwriting competitions eminent artist Dr Asim Basu, secretary of Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi Rabi Rath and principal of BK Arts College Baladeb Maharatha were the jury members.
