Bhubaneswar, Jun 9:
Less than 24 hours after expressing displeasure over party affairs in Odisha, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Hemanand Biswal today took a u-turn and said that things are pretty much fine in Odisha unit of the party.
“Even though I met Vice President Rahul Gandhi yesterday, I neither discussed any kind of dissent in the state unit nor did I bring up the topic of change of guard here,” said Biswal.
Speaking to reporters today, Biswal went on to admire current PCC President Prasad Harichandan.
“Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi are not in favour of changing presidents in trial and error method anymore. They don’t want to repeat the same mistake. Besides, it is wrong on part of some of us to expect the current president to go. Changing presidents won’t help,” he added.
Earlier in the day, PCC Chief Harichandan also struck a reconciliatory note.
“He is a former Chief Minister and a very senior leader. If there is anything troubling him and it comes to my knowledge, I will of course speak to him and try to get it sorted,” said Prasad.
