Senior Odisha journalist Sapan Bohidar (58 ), popularly known as Sapan Da, breathed his last early Saturday morning at a Hyderabad hospital where he was undergoing treatment for a few months. Bohidar, a resident of Bolangir had an illustrious career as a journalist both in print and electronic media for over 30 years.
Bohidar was widely respected for his pro-people reports, professional integrity and boldness.
Bohidar received higher training in journalism at the John Dimmitrov International Institute of Journalism in Sofia, Bulgaria.
He had worked as the Bolangir district correspondent for Odisha’s leading daily, Samaj, Press Trust of India, TV news agency ANI, Sankalp TV and Prameya.
Bohidar was the president of Bolangir District Journalists Association between 2007 and 2009 and was also the member of Indian Federation of Working Journalists.
Media Unity for Press Freedom ( MUFP ), Bolangir Journalists Association and a number of media persons have condoled Bohidar’s untimely death
