Henceforth, candidates will be required to clear ‘Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Eligibility Test’ (OSSTET) in order to be appointed as high school teachers, informed School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra here today.
OSSTET will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE, Odisha), he added.
“Since there are ample numbers of scholarly candidates in the state, ‘Unemployed C.T and B.Ed Sangh’ had requested for holding this test. It will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education. Steps are being taken to expedite recruitments. Hopefully, by November BSE will provide us with their calendar for holding the same and after that, we will be making a formal announcement. The government has prepared a guideline for conducting it. It will be called the Odisha Secondary School Teachers’ Eligibility Test’ (OSSTET). This will be conducted once in a year. I again repeat BSE has been designated as the conducting authority of this examination as in the case of OTET. Detail procedure with regard to carrying out of OSSTET will be published by the BSE,” Mishra told reporters.
“The BSE is in the process of preparing the format of the application. However, applications will be received through online mode,” he added.
