Kendrapara, Feb 9:
An eight-foot-long python was rescued from Subrnapur village under Dangmal gram panchayat in Odisha’s Kendrapara district, forest officials said today.
As per reports, the large python strayed into a villager’s house near Bhitarkanika wildlife sanctuary who informed the forest officials. The forest officials released the reptile into the wild in the sanctuary.
“The villagers informed us to rescue the snake. We have released the reptile in Kanika reserve forest which is a safe habitat for snakes and lizards,” Range Officer, Kanika Forest Range, Akshay Kumar Nayak said.
