Bhubaneswar,Oct 25 :
Train movement on the Khurda-Vizag route has been paralysed since this morning following inundation of tracks between Chilika and Balugaon stations. East Coast Railway authorities have decided not to allow any movement of trains until the tracks are safe for travel. Families and relatives of passengers who have been stranded at various stations have been advised to contact the ECoR helpline numbers 0674-2301525, 2303721 and 08455885936 for information on their status and the position of the trains in which they are travelling.
“This is to ensure the safety of all passengers as well as of the trains”, the CPRO of EcoR JP Mishra told OST. Mishra said the rail traffic between Howrah and Puri as well as between Puri and Sambalpur is normal and that efforts are on to resume Up and Down services on the Khurda-Vizag route as soon as possible.
