Koraput, May 13:
In a shocking incident, a constable of the District Voluntary Force (DVF) posted at Koraput in Odisha shot himself after killing five persons including four close relatives at the Mining Colony here this morning.
According to reports, the DVF constable Narendra Kandapan shot dead his father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and a driver in a fit of rage and later shot himself at the Mining Colony here.
Following information, police rushed to the spot and took the bodies for post mortem.
The deceased have been identified as Jalandhar Samarlia (father-in-law), Hemalata Samarlia (mother-in-law), Mithun Samarlia (brother-in-law) , Rachana Samarlia (sister-in-law) and Ekadasi Baidya (driver).
“The incident could be the fallout of a family feud”, Southwestern IG Yashwant Jethwa told reporters soon after the shocking incident.
He, however, said the details of the incident would be known after the investigation which is underway.
