Dubai: A group of eight girls from Odia diaspora in the UAE performed Odissi at the India Pavilion of Global Village in Dubai.
The students of Tapasya Dancers, Akshita Satapathy, Anchal Parida, Anisha Lenka, Ashwina Boxi, Prachi Bhayani, Prathna Pratap Singh, Rupal Mohapatra and Tamanna Rath, mentored by guru Rashmi Raj performed ‘Mahisha Mardhini’.
It was an opportunity for the Odia girls to showcase their talent and promote the rich culture of Odisha.
Global Village, Dubai, is one of the world’s largest family cultural, tourism, leisure and shopping and entertainment destination in the region, with a unique shopping experience at 27 pavilions representing more than 75 countries.
“It was great feeling to have the kids perform Odissi and showcase the rich culture of our land. It was an honour for the kids as the diversed audience were mesmerized by the performance and appreciation poured in,” said Rashmi Raj.
