Bhubaneswar, Jan 20:

The Havildar, Sepoy and Constable Mahasangh of Odisha that had threatened to go for a cease-work beginning January 25 for fulfillment of its 15-point charter of demands, decided to put on hold their proposed stir following certain assurances given by the Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra here on Monday.

The leaders of the Mahasangh at a press briefing on January 13 had announced that all the members will wear black badges on January 24 and resort to cease-work from January 25 if the government fails to fulfill their demands.

Apart from revision in grade pay and bike allowance, the Mahasangh had also demanded compensation of Rs one crore for the family of those killed while on duty.
