The opposition Congress and BJP are all set to corner the BJD-led Odisha government in the Odisha Assembly by raising various issues including the mega mining scam, the chit fund scam and faulty evaluation of the annual Plus Two answer papers.
Newly elected leader of opposition Narasingh Mishra said the party would raise farmers’ issues in a big way in the Assembly. He also said the party would also raise the issues of mining and chit fund scams.
“I will work to meet the aspirations of people. The issues that affect them would be raised in the Assembly,” said Mishra.
BJP law makers, who will be led by BJP president KV Singhdeo in the Assembly till the formal election of the new leader, have decided at the BJPLP meeting that the party would bring the inefficiency and rampant corruption to public knowledge exposing the real face of the government.
Newly elected BJPLP spokesperson Basant Panda said the party would raise the issues of power deficit, deterioration of law and order, lack of doctors in various hospitals and teachers in schools, water crisis and migration.
He also informed that the party would also raise the issues of farmers that include adequate compensation to the farmers affected in Phailin and the subsequent floods.
