Hundreds of Congress and BJP workers from Odisha’s Koraput and Jeypore constituency joined BJD today. The workers, who were led by former minister Rabi Narayan Nanda, met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Nivas here and joined the conch party.
Significantly, Congress leader and Borigumma block ex-chairman Dhwaja Hota was among the new joinees.
“Sri Dhwaja Hota, Congress leader and ex-chairman of Borigumma block in Koraput district, and others have joined the Biju Janata Dal today,” Patnaik said.
“Hota and hundreds of Congress workers along with several BJP workers have joined BJD formally. The party has welcomed them. With their inclusion in BJD, the party’s organisational strength will increase in Koraput,” said Nanda.
