Bhubaneswar, Oct 13:
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday announced a special package for those affected by Cyclone Pailin, which devastated vast stretches of land in the state’s coast on Saturday.
As per the package announced, each family severely affected by the cyclone would be given relief, consisting of 50 kg of rice and Rs 400 in cash, for 14 days while the other affected would get 25 kg of rice besides Rrs 200 cash by way of relief for seven days.
Fishermen affected by Pailin would be entitled to 10 kg of rice per head, Patnik said.
The Chief Minister thanked the people, officials, civil society and the media for their cooperation with the government in mounting a massive preparedness exercise that saved numerous lives.
