A Central team will visit Odisha’s Silk City tomorrow to finalize on the location of the proposed Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), informed Sanjay Das Burma Minister Skill Development & Technical Education here today.
“The team to be led by L N Gupta principal secretary Skill Development & Technical Education of the state government with director of department of Higher Education of Union MHRD, Rina Sonowal Kouli, director IISER Bhopal Prof. Vinod Kumar Singh, director IIT Bhubaneswar Ratnam V Raja Kumar and chief engineer CPWD Umesh Mishra will tomorrow visit the two sites identified for locating the permanent campus and three sites identified for locating the temporary campus of the premier institute,” said Das Burma briefing reporters at the state secretariat here.
The state government has identified a 200 acres patch of land at Palur hills and another 80 acres patch at Laudigaon both under Kanisi mouza for locating the permanent campus of proposed IISER, the minister said.
Campuses of Berhampur School of Engineering & Technology, Ronald Institute of Technology, Bhaligada and Gandhi Academy of Engineering & Technology, Golanthara have been identified for locating the temporary campus, he added.
A final decision on the location of the permanent campus and temporary campus will be taken unanimously after the team’s visit, the minister said
