Case against MLA Prafulla Majhi for allegedly misbehaving woman


Rourkela: Sadar police in Odisha’s Sundargarh district has registered a against Congress Talsara MLA Prafulla Majhi after a woman accused the legislator of misbehaving and threatening her over a land dispute.

According to reports, Binita Naik of Katangdihi village has stated in her complaint that MLA Majhi and his supporters threatened her to vacate the land while she was working at her farm land. The MLA also misbehaved with her, she alleged.

On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered against the MLA under Sections 447, 323, 354 (B), 294, 506 and 34 of the IPC.

On the other hand, Majhi has filed a counter complaint. Refuting the allegation, he said his wife is the owner of the land. When his supporters requested the woman to vacate the land, she abused them, he said.

A case has also been registered against Binita under Sections 447, 323, 294, 506 and 34 IPC on the basis of Majhi’s complaint, informed Sadar police station IIC Indrajit Behera.
