Bhubaneswar, Feb 5:
The Odisha cabinet this evening approved the Odisha Lokayukta Bill to be passed by the state Assembly during its ongoing session.
Though there has been no official word on the contours of the Bill as yet, reliable sources said some changes have been incorporated in the draft Bill that was prepared earlier.
One of the major changes incorporated is the bringing of the state vigilance under the purview of the Lokayukta, the sources said.
The Lokayukta Bill was the most important among the 13 items in the agenda for today’s cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
