Nearly 30 passengers were injured when a bus in which they were travelling overturned near Sorisiapada village in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district this morning.
As per reports, the speeding bus turned turtle after the driver lost control over the wheel. The passengers had a narrow escape and were stuck inside the bus for a brief while until they were rescued by the local people.
Police and local residents helped trapped commuters come out of the vehicle by breaking the window panes of the bus. A private crane operator and Odisha fire service vehicle also reached the spot and were pressed into service for the rescue operations.
The Cuttack-bound private bus was on its way to Gainda when the mishap occurred near Sorisiapada. The injured have been admitted to local hospitals in Dhenkanal and Gainda.
