Barely two days after he was interrogated by Odisha police for his alleged links with gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamanta, state unit Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today suspended Debasish Ghosh from the primary membership of the party.
Debasish Ghosh has been suspended from the primary membership of the party by the party’s state unit president Basant Panda for gross indiscipline, BJP General Secretary (organisation) Sarada Prasad Satapathy said in a press release issued to media.
Police interrogated Ghosh for having links with criminals. This news was published in several media which has affected the image of the party. In view of this, he has been suspended from the party’s membership for breaching discipline, he added.
Notably, Ghosh was the working president of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangha, a voluntary ogranisation floated by the Dhalsamanta duo.
Earlier on March 10, Ghosh was served notice asking him to appear before Chauliaganj police within seven days for interrogation over links with the criminal duo.
