Bhubaneswar, May 25:
Even as uncertainty prevails over the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting to elect the new leader of the party in the Odisha Assembly, the state BJP will hold its legislature party meeting to decide on its leader in the House after Prime Minister elect Narendra Modi’s swearing in ceremony is over on Monday.
Since the senior leaders of the party are busy with arrangements for the swearing in ceremony and deliberations on the cabinet formation, a day for the meeting will be decided after the programme is over, BJP sources said.
“We are waiting for the confirmation from Prakash Javedkar, who has been appointed as observer for election of the BJP legislature party leader in the state. He will be free after the swearing in ceremony. The new party leader will be decided after taking the opinions of all party MLAs,” said Sajjan Sharma, spokesperson for the state BJP.
There is every possibility that Rourkela MLA and former union minister Dillip Ray to be elected leader of the BJP legislature party, which has 10 members in the House.
