Hundreds of BJD workers led by Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) coporator Sriram Pandey joined the Ama Odisha party here on Monday.
Welcoming the members at the Ama Odisha’s office at Shelter Chhak here, chairman of Ama Odisha Soumya Ranjan Patnaik said Ama Odisha has won the confidence of the people through a number of social welfare programmes, including language movement and blood donation throughout the state.
“Ama Odisha party has been formed with the enormous goodwill of the people”, he said.
Stating that election is a real test of strength for any political party, Patnaik said the self confidence of his party workers would help them in the ensuing CMC elections. “The success of Ama Odisha would pave the way for the prosperity of the people of the state if the workers work with utmost dedication”, he added.
Several BJD leaders including Sriram Pandey, CMC corporator from Ward no-35, Sujata Jali, Pravat Kumar Barik, former sarpanch Pratap Chandra Behera, Congress leader and president of Basti Mahasangh Bijay Ojha and his wife and Ama Odisha candidate for CMC ward no-4 Sulochana Ojha, and several workers of seven panchayats of Tangi-Choudwar joined Ama Odisha on the occasion.
Besides, several Ama Odisha workers, leaders and candidates for ward no-28, 44, 27, 22, and 5 also attended the meeting.
Senior member of Ama Odisha Uugrasen Bhuyan offered the vote of thanks to the members present at the function, which was presided over by the party’s senior leader Mohammad Sakil.
