According to reports, the ballistic missile was launched from the launch pad 3 of ITR at 8.16 am.

The medium range missile, jointly developed by India and Israel, has the ability to hit the target within 70 km radius.

Notably, the test launch was to be conducted yesterday. However, it was postponed for today due to unspecified reasons.

It may be mentioned here that multi- functional surveillance and threat alert radar (MF STAR) was put in place for detection, tracking and guidance of the missile.

The test-firing of the missile was jointly carried out by Indian defence personnel, DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries, reports said.

For this, the residents around 2.5 km radius of the launch complex were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
