The excise intelligence bureau arrested four smugglers and seized two cars loaded with 58 kg marijuana worth Rs 2, 50,000 in Berhampur, Odisha on Friday.
The excise intelligence bureau had information that marijuana was being transported through Berhampur and had been procured from Kandhamal.
A team headed by excise inspector Ranjan Nayak stopped the two cars coming from Kukudakhandi side near Berhampur check post, yesterday.
The team seized 58 kg marijuana packed into two bags, worth
Rs 2,50, 000, loaded in the cars.
Those arrested were identified as Srabana Mallik, Purnachandra Kanhar, Biswambhar Nag and Bhimsen Pradhan.
Notably, in last 15 days, the excise intelligence bureau has arrested 11 smugglers and seized marijuana worth Rs 10 lakh in the city.
