The debate on the Odisha Lokayukta Bill-2014 began in the Assembly after it reassembled at 11.30 am following its adjournment during the Question Hour.
Two and a half hours have been allotted for the debate on the Bill, which was presented in the House on Wednesday.
The debate on the Bill had remained incomplete on Wednesday leading to adjournment of the House after Congress members, including Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh, staged a dharna inside the well of the House.
As the House reassembled at 11.30 am today, Congress members served separate privilege notices against Parliamentary Affairs minister Kalpataru Das, Government Chief Whip Pravat Tripathy and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
While Congress Chief Whip Prasad Harichandan served a privilege notice against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for non- tabling of two CAG reports in the House, Congress MLAs Santosh Singh Saluja and Anup Sai served privilege notices against Parliamentary Affairs minister Kalpataru Das and Government Chief Whip Pravat Tripathy respectively on allocation of inadequate time for the debate the no confidence motion.
Speaker Pradip Amat , however, said that there was nothing wrong with the no confidence motion as the duration of the debate had been discussed and finalized at the business advisory committee meeting of the Assembly.
