Angry Congress workers block road in Jeypore, protest attack on Bahinipati kin

Angry Congress workers today staged a road blockade at the Traffic Square here protesting last night’s attacks on  the brother and nephew of senior Congress leader and candidate from Jeypore assembly constituency Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
Congress workers placed burning tyres on the road during the rasta roko, disrupting traffic.
Bahinipati’s brother and nephew  were stabbed by a group of BJD activists inside a hotel room late on Thursday night.
According to reports, a group of local BJD leaders and workers barged into Room no 217 of Madhumati Hotel at about 1.30 AM and attacked Tara Prasad’s brother Tuna Bahinipati and nephew Gupta Prasad Mohapatra with sharp weapons beforer fleeing the area.
Both the injured were later rushed to the Jeypore sub divisional hospital in a critical condition.
