The Medical Council of India (MCI) today gave its approval for increasing 64 Post Graduate (PG) seats in the three government-run medical colleges in Odisha, said sources in state Health department.
While the MCI has given its approval for increasing 24 PG seats in SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, it has approved increasing of 22 PG seats in MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Brahmapur and 18 PG seats in VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla.
With the approval of 64 new PG seats by the MCI, the total number of PG seats in the state has increased to 271.
Admissions to these new seats will begin from the 2015-16 academic year as per the MCI circular, sources revealed.
