While 52% of the winners in the Assembly election are crorepatis, the educational qualification of 34% of the lawmakers is Class XII pass or even less.
According to Odisha Election Watch analysis, a total number of 96 (65%) out of 147 MLAs are graduates or have higher degrees whereas 50 elected members (34%) have educational are studied up to 12th standard or less.
There are three MLAs in the state Assembly who had education up to class V. Two of them are from the ruling BJD and the third from BJP.
The BJD also has five lawmakers who passed class eight. 17 MLAs including 12 from BJD, two each from Congress and BJP have passed 10th standard.
25 MLAs have passed 12th standard while 33 are graduates and 29, graduate professionals.
The new Assembly will have 32 postgraduates, 28 of whom are from the BJD. The ruling party also has two MLAs with doctorate degrees.
