Rourkela, Aug 3
Three armed cadres of the outlawed People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were injured in an encounter with the police who raided their camp near Chandiposh under Rajgangpur police limits late on Friday night.
However, a number of PLFI members who were present at the camp during the encounter managed to flee. Police claimed to have destroyed their camp and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition including ten rifles and over 100 live cartridges. Efforts are on to nab the rebels who escaped, police said.
The PLFI who have allegedly killed at least seven civilians in Sundargarh district were planning to launch major violence in the district, sources added.
