Bhubaneswar, Oct 28:
2578 rural buildings and 8099 km of roads including 2210 km of PMGSY road have been damaged by cyclone Phailin and subsequent floods that have wreaked havoc in various parts of the state, a government assessment report said.
According to the assessment, of the 2578 number of rural buildings damaged following the twin calamities 28 buildings require urgent reconstruction while 2166 rural buildings need repair. The government estimate said that Rs 42.13 crore is required for the work.
Similarly, the cost of repairing and restoring the 8099 kms of damaged road across 15 affected districts, according to the estimate, will be approximately Rs 170 crores.
