Pedalling peace from Odisha to Nepal

Cuttack: To spread the message of peace and friendship, a team of eight cycling enthusiasts set off for Kathmandu-Nepal’s capital from the historic Barabati Fort today.

These cyclists, who are participating in Kataka Kathmandu K2K International Cycling Trip 2017 organized by Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club – BCAC,  target to cover 1450 km in 12 days and reach the Nepalese capital on October 9.

“Apart from attracting people to cycling, this trip organized by Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club aims to spread the message of peace and friendship between India and Nepal,” stated expedition’s team leader and senior IPS officer Sanjeev Panda.

The ride schedule is as follows:
28.09.17 Bhubaneswar to Angul via Cuttack (Thu Day 1) 140 km
29.09.17 Angul to Sambalpur (Fri Day 2) 160 km
30.09.17 Sambalpur to Tapakera(CG) via Sundargarh (Sat Day 3) 140 km
01.10.17 Tapakera to Ambikapur(CG) (Sun Day 4) 140 km
02.10.17 Ambikapur to Renukoot (UP) (Mon Day 5) 155 km
03.10.17 Renukoot to Varanasi (UP) (Tue Day 6) 140 km
04.10.17 Varanasi to Azamgarh (UP) (Wed Day 7) 100 km
05.10.17 Azamgarh to Gorakhpur (UP) (Thu Day 8) 105 km
06.10.17 Gorakhpur to Belahiya (Nepal) (Fri Day 9) 100 km
07.10.17 Belahiya to Bharatpur (Nepal) (Sun Day 10) 120 km
08.10.17 Bharatpur to Charipauwa (Baireni) (Nepal) (Mon Day 11) 100 km
09.10.17 Charipauwa to Kathmandu (Nepal) (Tue Day 12) 50 km
