Pre-poll violence: 3 students injured in group clash in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A day after the schedule for students’ union election was announced, violence erupted due to group clash in a college today in Odisha capital leaving three students injured.

The injured students were identified as Siddarth Pradan, Dillip Kumar Behera and Tikon Digal. All were admitted to Capital Hospital.

The incident took place on the campus of Deba Ray College in Nayapalli.

According to reports, around 40 non-students entered into the college campus and attacked some students following a heated argument.

Sources said Plus III first year students of the college brought a group of outsiders who assaulted the Plus III final year students.

The entire incident has been captured in CCTV installed on college premises.

A case has been registered in this regard at Nayapalli police station.

Similarly, two groups of students from Jagannath College under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district clashed this afternoon.
